About

I Am New Orleans is a community-led campaign designed to inspire conversation and action to create a child-centered city.

The project, supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, began in 2021 with a series of virtual events focused on critical issues facing children and families in New Orleans. Since then, we have powerfully united partner organizations, community leaders, residents and stakeholders to advance racial equity across key areas through in-person and virtual community conversations.

With the support of our partners, we’ve discussed maternal and child health, economic dignity, environmental justice, food access, early childhood education, opportunities and challenges facing young men and boys of color, generational change and more.

I Am New Orleans is designed to bring voices together to visualize and realize a New Orleans where all children and families can thrive. As we continue to advance the work toward a more equitable city, we invite you to share your story on social media using #IAmNewOrleans.

Stay in the loop and get the latest updates on events and initiatives.
